Doak Bishop is an independent arbitrator with decades of experience resolving complex domestic and international disputes. His work spans a large variety of commercial disputes including energy, construction, mining, and technology, as well as foreign investment cases.

Professional Background

Before becoming a full-time arbitrator, Mr. Bishop spent more than 20 years in commercial litigation and 25 years in international arbitration.

Arbitration Practice

Mr. Bishop has been active in arbitration since joining the American Arbitration Association commercial panel in 1983, and regularly serves as sole arbitrator, chairman, and party-appointed arbitrator in domestic and international proceedings.

His practice spans institutionally administered and ad hoc arbitrations under a wide range of arbitral rules, and he is frequently appointed in complex disputes.
